Nobody is looking for a website.
They are looking for a plumber who answers. You do not need a website because websites are good. You need one because a person standing in a wet kitchen typed something into a phone at nine o'clock last night, and the four names that came back were not yours.
That is the whole problem, and it has three parts:
- No address of your own. A Facebook page is somebody else's shop window, and they can move it.
- A Gmail address. It is on your van, on your invoices, and it quietly tells everyone who reads it that this is a hobby.
- No Google listing. So you are absent from "near me", which is where almost all of this happens.
Fix those three and you are findable. Everything else is decoration.
What you get for £99.99.
One payment. No contract. Everything registered in your name, so if you walk away tomorrow you take it with you.
- Your own .co.uk, registered in your name, for a year
- A hello@ mailbox, with the DNS set so your quotes land in the inbox and not the spam folder
- Your Google Business Profile built, claimed and filled in — hours, area, services and the Message button
- A one-page site with your services, your area and your prices on it
- Listed in the directories that feed Google
The only thing that recurs afterwards is the mailbox, at £4.99 a month or £49.90 for the year. Somebody has to run a mail server.
If you already have a site and just want to be findable, the profile and the domain on their own are £59.99. See both side by side.
Why the page has your prices on it.
Because 86% of your competitors hide theirs, and hiding a price does not stop a customer wanting one — it sends them to whoever will say a number.
A price on a page does two things. It stops the phone ringing with people who were never going to pay it, which is an hour of your evening back. And it puts you in front of the ones who now know roughly what they are in for and have decided to ring you anyway. Those are the calls worth having.
We will write it as a range or a day rate if a fixed price does not fit your trade. What we will not do is put "call for a quote" on it and pretend that is a website.
Days, not months.
What actually happens
Half an hour on the phone, once. Your trade, your area, your prices, your number. We buy the domain, set the mailbox up, build the profile, write the page and send you the link.
The domain and the mailbox are usually live the same day. Google's own verification is the slow bit, and nobody controls that — reckon on under a week.
What does not happen
No discovery workshop. No brand deck. No monthly report about impressions. No three-month build for a page that could have been finished on a Tuesday.
Then we leave you alone
Everything is in your name. The domain is yours, the profile is under your Google account, the mailbox is yours. There is no lock-in, because there is nothing to lock you into.
Not sure you need it? Check first.
Type your business name into the free checker and see what Google actually holds on you. It reads your real listing and scores it. No email address required, and it takes about twenty seconds.
The questions
we actually get
Do I own it, or do you?
You do. The domain is registered in your name, the Google profile is claimed under your account, and the mailbox is yours. If you never speak to us again, none of it stops working.
One page? Is that not a bit thin?
For a trade, no. Somebody looking for a plumber wants to know what you do, where you work, roughly what it costs and how to reach you. That is one page. Five pages of the same information is five pages for a customer to give up in.
What is the monthly bit?
The mailbox, £4.99 a month or £49.90 for the year, because someone has to run a mail server. That is the only recurring charge. There is no retainer and no management fee.
How long does it really take?
Days, not months. The domain and mailbox are usually live the same day. Google's own verification is the slow part and that is out of anyone's hands — usually under a week.
I already have a Facebook page. Is that not enough?
It is a start, and it is not yours. It does not come up when somebody searches for a tradesman near them, it does not give you an email address, and Facebook can change what it shows tomorrow. The point of a domain is that nobody can move it.
What do you need from me?
Your trade, the area you cover, your prices or your day rate, and a phone number. Half an hour on the phone, once. We do the rest and send you the link.
